Craig has been interested in all aspects of horse racing for as long a he can remember. With a grandfather who long ago worked in and around the Trots and Gallops in Perth, WA, you may say racing has been in the blood for some time.A previous National Manager of the Phonbetting channel at the NZ Racing Board, Craig has owned as part of syndicates, racehorses for about 10 years. The most noteable succss so far was with Madredeus, a chestnut mare who managed to win 6 races and placed 2nd in the G3 Tarankai Cup. Now as one of the directors of Ironside Thorougbreds and member of the NZTBA, Craig is focussing his time on building the name and brand of Danger Looms!
The other director of Ironside Thoroughbreds, Matthew resides in Sunny Perth, Western Australia. While remote from the day to day activity, Matthew keeps himself involved studying the bloodlines, and providing valuable insight into promotion and running of the business as well as keeping an eye on finances.
Like Craig, this is his first venture into standing a stallion and he is enjoying every minute of it!
While Matthew and Craig dream up ideas and plans for breeding the horses, Paula is the hands on person who keeps the broodmares and foals happy little campers.
An avid fan and participant in local dressage competitions, Paula can be found grooming and tending her own horses when there is down time. Looking after the basic handling, worming and day to day care of the broodmares is enough to keep her out of mischief though!
